Business Advising Training

Job Training Opportunity

EDC Team Jefferson is seeking up to 10 Business Advisors for our 2026 Jefferson County cohort. This is a unique opportunity to receive high-level professional training at no cost and join a network of experts delivering technical assistance to small businesses across Jefferson and Clallam Counties.

As part of the EDC’s Recompete Pilot Program participants will learn skills to help local businesses adapt, scale, and sustain long-term growth. (For more information about the Recompete Pilot program visit: https://www.recompetewa.org/)

Please Note: Once trained, advisors are not employees of the EDC. This program is designed for professionals who intend to establish or maintain their own independent advising practice, or who wish to continue to serve the local business community in other ways. In exchange for the free training, participants commit to providing independent advising in the community and reporting client impact metrics to the EDC for several years.

Key Responsibilities

● Fully engage in a 12-week seminar series, analyzing client data and applying the program’s problem-solving methodologies.

● Provide structured guidance to entrepreneurs to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and job creation.

● Maintain accurate, confidential records of advising sessions and submit required metrics to support federal grant compliance.

Program Commitments

Because this program is fully grant-funded, acceptance into the cohort requires a formal commitment to:

1. Operate as an independent advisor (not an EDC employee or contractor).

2. Provide ongoing advising services to businesses in Jefferson and Clallam counties.

3. Track and submit data on client outcomes for several years following graduation to measure the program’s regional economic impact.
