A strong and diversified economy provides a high quality of life for the citizens of Jefferson County and the region. This in turn generates the resources through which local governments provide for the health, safety, and welfare of its citizens. Therefore, as a local government entity, Jefferson Co. shall promote economic development, along with public health and safety, social services and environmental quality.
